MALIK TAIMUR MASOOD AKBER, a renowned politician, says about interfaith peace building

MALIK TAIMUR MASOOD AKBER, a renowned politician, says about interfaith peace building that we are living in the modern age of 21st Century. In this century many things are invented. No doubt, that the people of Pakistan are very hard working and intelligent. They are working day and night for the progress of the country. But the main problem is that they are not working in unity. Our youth is struggling hard for their own goals instead of the whole world. Everybody wants his name on the top of the list. Everyone seems to be selfish. He can shed the blood of others to attain success. As Pakistan is divided into four provinces. The people of these provinces have also classified themselves separately. The people of Sindh province call themselves as Sindhi, the people of Punjab , NWFP and Balochistan call themselves as Punjabi, Balochi and Pathaan. There is also problem in the cast system in Pakistan.
But this concept is not suitable for the believers of Islam. They should live with brotherhood and cooperate with each other. They should call themselves as Pakistanis whether they are living in whatever province of Pakistan.
Religion is very important for our souls. So, without religion, there can be no secure foundation for morals, either religion raises or ennobles man, and it should form an essential part of the youngsters education. In Pakistan unfortunately, the circumstances are very peculiar. The government has wisely adapted the policy of non-interference in the religions of the people and hence it is neutral in the matter of religious instructions.
The demonstrational schools started and maintained by the various religious communities, the Barelvi, the shias and the Adl-e-Hadith are given education according to their sectors and the minds of the youngsters are being disillusioned by putting the wrong conceptions about other sects in their minds. This training is based upon sectarian lines.
All the religious trainings worth the name must be broad based on the spirit of toleration. The first principal which is to be followed is that everyone should not only respect ones cast but should not say badly for others as well. Mutual toleration and a broad minded sympathy and respect for others believe should be an essential part of religious instructions. Without it, it will degenerate into narrow sectarianism and fasten bitterness and fanaticism. As it is stated,
“United they stand divided they fall.”
We are Pakistani and our motto should be “One heart one way.” The great French General Napoleon used to say, “Divide and conquer.” His great victories were by attacking one of his enemy when all alone before the others could come to his support.
Every Pakistani should work hard not only for his progress but the progress of his country. The founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam once addressed,
“ If you change your past and work together in a spirit that everyone of you, no matter to what community he belongs or how does he look like, then there will be no end to the progress you will make.” We all should believe that UNITY IS STRENGTH.

Mrs Naheed Shahid says about Interfaith Peace & Harmony

Interview of Mrs Naheed Shahid (Rtd) Principal, F.G Girls College, Wah Cantt

There can be nothing so distant that one can’t reach it eventually or so hidden that we can’t discover it what really is required for such achievements is effort and determination to reach ones goal. Once! Pakistan was a peaceful country but problems broke out in Pakistan after the death of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in 1948 and after a short period of time the assassination of the first Prime Minister Liaqat Ali Khan. Many changes were seen in the status of Pakistan. People began to strive for hunger some became jobless and many were exploited. After the great struggle of other leaders still now Pakistan is going through a hard time and its difficulty are increasing day after day. The sectarian government should be completely revolutionized. All the dishonest workers should be fired.

Pakistan is divided into different sectors. Everyone believes that he is right and the others are wrong as there is inflexibility in their thinking. People can shed others blood for their selfish gains. All citizens should be treated equally. These days are political leaders are also in great danger as an example the assassination of Shaheed ( Urdu word for ‘martyr’) Benazir Bhutto is in front of us. We have to root out terrorism from the hearts of each and every being. We all should ponder upon this fact that no one is useless in this world and all deserve to be happy. We can’t say that evil is missing from this world but in majority cases people are inclined towards terrorism because of their anger and helplessness. We should live and let the others to live also. If we will oppose others then we should also get prepared to face opposition. Each one of us should be aware of his responsibility not only as a family member or a religious follower but also as a proper and decent citizen.

We have to become one just as our God is one and only He has created all of us. As in the eyes of Allah all human beings are equal in the same way we should also oppose maltreatment and should prepare ourselves for every kind of sacrifice because those who suffer in this world will get the reward in the world hereafter.

Prof: Muhammad Farooq says about Interfaith Harmony

Prof (Rtd) MOHAMMAD FAROOQ, (THE DEAN OF THE FAROOQI IDEAL PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS (schools and colleges), in WAH CANTT)

The fear of terrorism is spreading everywhere. No one is independent. The sacrifices which our ancestors gave to form Pakistan are ending in smoke as Pakistan has now just reduced to a battle field. Quaid-e-Azam gave the principles of UNITY, FAITH AND DISCIPLINE to which the Government of Pakistan turned a deaf ear.

The first thing that is to be done is that there should be no provincialism, racialism and communalism. So we should route out communalism, abolish ignorance and illiteracy. The atmosphere of justice should prevail all over the country. All citizens should abide by law and regulations. The gap between rich and poor should be abridged. National income should be distributed rationally among the sections of the society. The provision of food, housing and clothing would be given first priority. If unity is maintained in our country, it will progress by leaps and bounds. People should be educated on mass-scale to bring forth democracy for which each citizen has to pay his role.

The president should unite all the members of assemblies. It is the duty of Naib Nazim (Deputy Head of the Local District Government) to provide each and every need to his town or city. All such tendencies which fan the force of separation and disruption should be diminished and unity should be celebrated. There should be no discrimination among the citizens on the basis of cast, creed, language and colour. Hazrat Muhammad PBUH also said that an ARAB was not superior to non ARAB or a White to a Black. He PBUH believed that all were the sons of Adam.
